Specialist Acoustic Plaster System, Berkshire

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed the installation of a specialist acoustic plaster system for Queen’s School at Eton College in Windsor, Berkshire.

As part of a larger development, Queens School has received an inventive and fantastic roof space which provides a multi-purpose, all year round, project based classroom with a double storey greenhouse and large electronic teaching panels with fully digital displays. The area also comes with astrology viewing areas, all of which required treatment to ensure the space was peaceful and have no unwanted reverberation.

Reception Acoustic Ceiling Installation London

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley were asked to provide a tender for installing Rockfon Mono Acoustic in the reception area of the Lucent building in London. The building, an office space located in the heart of London, at Piccadilly Circus, is being extended and refurbished. With big plans for the building in the future, Pacy & Wheatley are happy to be on board.

The Solution

Rockfon Mono Acoustic was chosen due to its Class A sound absorption. The acoustic system reduces reverberation and noise levels, creating a nice, peaceful environment in the reception area. The Pacy & Wheatley acoustic team was tasked to install 220m2 of the system within a tight timescale. To the delight of our client, Wates Drylining, our team of specialist acoustic installers completed the work one a week ahead of the programme.

The Lucent building, which is seven floors high, is right behind the iconic advertising screen at Piccadilly Circus. Planning the logistics of specialist materials and equipment can be challenging when working in very busy areas such as this, and we worked closely with our client to ensure minimal disturbance to the public and surrounding businesses.

The Pacy & Wheatley acoustic team worked alongside Wates Drylining, with whom we have worked on many projects. We look forward to working with them again on future projects!

Acoustic Ceiling Installation Oxford

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics were invited to tender for the exciting transformation of the old Northgate House building into the new Cheng Yu Tung building, which is part of Jesus College in Oxford. The project is the largest transformation of Jesus College since the 17th century.

Located in the heart of Oxford, the building is undergoing major refurbishment, and the architect approached us about providing our Class A Rockfon Mono Acoustic to numerous areas of the building. The project includes new educational and recreational spaces for its students along with student accommodation.

Acoustic Ceiling Installation Mayfair

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have been appointed a Rockfon Mono System acoustic ceiling installation in Mayfair at 35 Dover Street. The property is a historical building in the heart of Mayfair, central London. The building houses various offices and retail units previously, including Jimmy Choo and Louboutin. The main contractor, Collins Construction, is appointed to handle the refurbishment, where they will be working alongside interior designer Maison Arabella and Orbit Architects to deliver a high-end category A fit-out across the second to seventh floors. Due to the large spaces within the building, the architects felt the need for Acoustic control.

The Solution

Pacy & Wheatley installed 367m2 of Rockfon across the two floors. The product is renowned for being a class A sound absorber, which made it perfect for a busy office environment like 35 Dover St. The job, like most central London jobs, came with its challenges but was completed within the timeframe quoted to Collins Construction. Our staff enjoyed a great working relationship with Collins and look forward to further opportunities of working together. P&W Acoustics successfully completed another prestigious install of Rockfon Mono.

Acoustic Plaster System Suffolk

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed the installation of an acoustic plaster system at Gainsborough House in Sudbury, Suffolk. Gainsborough’s House is a museum in Sudbury and is the childhood home of Thomas Gainsborough. The museum has been open since 1961 and is owned by trustees whose aim is to promote the wider knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of the art of Thomas Gainsborough. The historical building underwent exciting renovations, which included installing the Fade Acoustic Plaster system to the walls and ceilings in the Exhibition Gallery and the Landscape Studio.

Rockfon Mono System London

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics were invited to install the Rockfon Mono Acoustic TE system in the reception area at Fasken in London. Fasken is an established Law Firm based in central London; when their offices went through a refurbishment, one of their objectives was to improve the acoustic control throughout the office. We provided them with a dark grey colour that works well with the interior design and colour scheme they were looking for.

Ambient Acoustic Plaster Installation, Cambridge

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics installed an Ambient Acoustic Plaster system in coordination of a refurbishment, and new extension to the Jesus College, one of the leading colleges in the University of Cambridge. The college was established between 1496 and 1516 on the site of the twelfth-century Benedictine nunnery of St Mary and St Radegund, which included a large church and was maintained at the center and houses the university.

The refurbishment and new extension of the grade II listed Webb building provides social spaces, comprising of a basement bar, new Café, pavilion offices and accommodation. The café and bar areas required acoustic absorption, to ensure a great ambience. This meant removing a large amount of reverberation for social and quiet time within the college life.

Acoustic Ceiling Installation London

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed an acoustic ceiling installation at a bakery in London. Ole and Steen are professional bakers from Denmark who, after opening their own bakeries in 1991 and 1992, joined forces in 2008 to create the bakery chain “Ole and Steen”. With over 100 bakeries in Denmark they decided to branch out and now have stores in London and New York. The company prizes itself on creating better bakery for all.

When they decided to open another bakery on The Strand in London the architect felt the need for Acoustic control within the shop due to the high ceilings and busy environment. Pacy & Wheatley were invited to tender to install the Fade Acoustic plaster system and were successful!

Rockfon Mono TE System, Birmingham

The Project

Mailbox is located in central Birmingham and is a mixed used development which houses various businesses, some examples are BBC Birmingham studios and Harvey Nichols luxury store.

The development underwent refurbishment and Pacy & Wheatley were invited to submit a tender to install the Rockfon Mono TE System. The architect felt a need for class A sound absorption in various areas due to the size of the spaces, they needed a system to control the reverberations whilst still creating a smooth seamless appearance.

          We are based in Doncaster however move around the country continually so location not that important however must be willing to travel and lodge.
