Hotel Ceiling Installations, Oxford

Project Description

Delmond Construction invited Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics to tender for installing a specialist acoustic ceiling at a brand-new hotel renovation. The former department store is set to become a luxury 4-star hotel located in the centre of Oxford. The Boswells store started trading in 1738 and was the second oldest family-owned department store in the world.  The refurbishment will transform the store into a hotel with 101 rooms, a ground-floor restaurant, a bar, and an office space.

The Solution

Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics supplied and installed 170m2 of Rockfon Mono Acoustic across the bar, hotel lobby, and meeting room. This class A sound absorber not only controls reverberation levels and white noise but also creates a pleasant ambience and peaceful environment. Its suitability for a hotel setting ensures that customers can relax and enjoy the comfort of the facilities, instilling confidence in the proposed solution. 

Specialist Acoustic Plaster Leicester

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed the installation of a Rockfon Acoustic Mono system for Leicester FC. The 185-acre, state of the art sports training facility is located in Seagrave, Leicestershire and was designed by KSS Architects who are world-leading specialists in designing sports venues and training centres.

The site required the installation of the Rockfon Mono system to various spaces including, the hydrotherapy pool area, changing rooms and the Owners Suite. The system was chosen for its exceptional sound control and ability to deliver an aesthetically pleasing, smooth and seamless finish.

Specialist Acoustic Plaster System, Knightsbridge

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed the installation of a specialist acoustic plaster system for the Pavilion Company located in the heart of Knightsbridge. They are a high profile members club and fine dining restaurant, the company has further locations around central London. The building is located next to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, another location that Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics has worked on.

Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics were invited to meet and discuss the project at 64 Knightsbridge where they were undergoing a high specification refurbishment.

The building required fine details and wanted to ensure that the design for the areas in the basement and first floor achieved acoustic comfort and integrated acoustic absorption in order to remove any unwanted reverberation to ensure comfort.

Acoustic Plaster System Suffolk

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed the installation of an acoustic plaster system at Gainsborough House in Sudbury, Suffolk. Gainsborough’s House is a museum in Sudbury and is the childhood home of Thomas Gainsborough. The museum has been open since 1961 and is owned by trustees whose aim is to promote the wider knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of the art of Thomas Gainsborough. The historical building underwent exciting renovations, which included installing the Fade Acoustic Plaster system to the walls and ceilings in the Exhibition Gallery and the Landscape Studio.

Acoustic Ceiling Installation London

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed an acoustic ceiling installation at a bakery in London. Ole and Steen are professional bakers from Denmark who, after opening their own bakeries in 1991 and 1992, joined forces in 2008 to create the bakery chain “Ole and Steen”. With over 100 bakeries in Denmark they decided to branch out and now have stores in London and New York. The company prizes itself on creating better bakery for all.

When they decided to open another bakery on The Strand in London the architect felt the need for Acoustic control within the shop due to the high ceilings and busy environment. Pacy & Wheatley were invited to tender to install the Fade Acoustic plaster system and were successful!

Rockfon Mono TE System, Birmingham

The Project

Mailbox is located in central Birmingham and is a mixed used development which houses various businesses, some examples are BBC Birmingham studios and Harvey Nichols luxury store.

The development underwent refurbishment and Pacy & Wheatley were invited to submit a tender to install the Rockfon Mono TE System. The architect felt a need for class A sound absorption in various areas due to the size of the spaces, they needed a system to control the reverberations whilst still creating a smooth seamless appearance.

Rockfon Acoustic Plaster Brighton

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley were asked to provide a Tender for the refurbishment of the prestigious Brighton Dome Corn exchange, one of 3 arts venues in the Domes offering.

The venue has hosted greats like David Bowie and many more top artists, and the refurbishment is a significant project within Brighton and commenced in 2017 to excel in the dome’s reputation as a nationally treasured building.

The grade 1 listed building was built by prince regent some 200 years ago and will look fantastic following the new refurbishment. Many areas require acoustic control, and the thought that some reverberation control would be required in spaces around the building. The program is phased and will be a project lasting some time.

Acoustic Plaster for a Religious Building

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics have been asked to install an acoustic plaster system within a religious building. South Hampstead Synagogue is located around a growing modern Jewish community in London’s metropolitan, warmth, informality and innovative approach are its reputation. This new build exciting project with large shul areas multi-function areas and communal areas including stairwells all were noted that could cause great acoustic problems within the spaces and a product was required to look a seamless solution and created a great amount of absorption to ensure the areas provided acoustic comfort and reverberation control.

Rockfon Mono Acoustic Plaster, London

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have completed a Rockfon Mono Acoustic Plaster for the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London. The society is situated in close proximity to Holborn and sits across from the largest public square in London, which gets its name from the historic Lincoln’s Inn building.

The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn is an association of barristers, judges and students and has been recognised for over 600 years. As one of four Inns of Court, the society is dedicated to the training, development and qualification of the members within their legal careers at all levels and stages.

The fantastic architecture is a sight to behold across the different buildings. However, Graham Construction is undertaking a large remodelling and extension project at the London facility.
