Specialist Acoustic Plaster in London

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics have completed a specialist Acoustic Plaster project in Fitzrovia, London. Over the last 50 years architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands and Sheppard Robson have together produced the magnificent office retail and residential neighbourhood within Fitzrovia.

The communal areas and staircases between residencies required an acoustic solution to control the reverberation within the spaces to avoid unwanted echo and uncomfortable areas within these spaces.

The Solution

The project was a tricky installation due to the area of installation residing within the communal areas and stair cases. Works were to be completed whilst the main contractor was trying to complete the residences, therefore logistics and organisation was key.

The product installed was Mono Acoustic and was integrated with timber panels, within the areas which housed specialist lighting, and with polished plaster walls. The reverberation was perfectly controlled with the product.

The project overran due to the sequencing, however the finish within the spaces is perfect and has perfect sound control; ensuring a quality feel within the building.

Specialist Acoustic Plaster in Barbican, London

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics complete a Residential Acoustic Plaster System installation in London. Based on the side of the River Thames located in the Battersea area, the Albion Riverside building stands. This high class development and singular apartment was being refurbished to a very high standard and was having a very expensive audio system installed and the need for clarity of the sound and areas of sound absorption to ensure the clean sounds were perfectly heard. The project had low ceilings and therefore unable to install most systems that incur approximately 30-40mm depth, as this would encroach too low within the apartment.

The Solution

Pacy and Wheatley were contacted regarding the project and all aspects discussed; the issue of the depth was certainly a major factor of the requirement. As with all of Pacy and Wheatley’s products these are seamless, following the discussions a proposal to utilise 10mm of our seamless Ambient acoustic Basecoat system was approved. The solution answered all the criteria for the client due to its depth, sound control and finish, the sound absorption created reduced any reverberation and ensured the clean sounds required were realised. The installation also greatly enhances speech intelligibility and reduces any echo; therefore ensures a great arena for an un-disturbed listening experience.

The project started very quickly following the go ahead and all works were completed on time and to budget.

Acoustic Plaster System Installed in Residential Home, Hampshire

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics were pleased to complete a specialist Acoustic Plaster System at a residential home in Hampshire. Following installation of ambient acoustic plaster system to the basement swimming pool area in 2008, a problem with service pipework became apparent. The result was damage to the acoustic ceiling within the private 3 storey house, with basement and complete with 6 bedrooms, reception rooms, Dining rooms etc and perfectly situated adjacent the river test, a purely stunning residence.

The original house was demolished and a new stone building was built with the basement pool area below the water table that has to be tanked, as its situated only 6m away from the River Test.

The Solution

Pacy and Wheatley were asked to return and visit to view the area and to return the ceiling to its former state, this required individual patch removal and reinstatement of areas and the finish applied with great results; the testimonial below indicates the level of service given.

Unfortunately due to the strict photograph policy at the property we are unable to show photographs of the house or works carried out.

Acoustic Plaster Installation in Winchester

The Project

At a very early design stage of an acoustic plaster project in Winchester, Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics were consulted to assist with details, and the installation for the project. Further to this, following a build process, we were instructed by Kingerlee Contractors to install our Ambient acoustic plaster system to the various areas.

The property is a large newly constructed residential dwelling, set in beautiful surroundings with large leisure swimming facilities, extensive living areas overlooking hillsides, with a river towards the bottom of the garden.

The Architects, Niall Mclaughlin, required absorption to various areas to create a comfortable ambience within the high reverberant areas. An acoustic solution was required due to the hard finishes which create reverberation problems, and therefore the client was looking for a product that will appear seamless and create the amount of absorption required within the spaces.

The Solution

The project incorporated speakers, light fittings and ventilation grills, which required suspension from the system. The Acoustic absorption created will deal with the reverberation issue to the required areas, and create peaceful spaces for leisure within the own home.

Corrour Lodge, Scotland

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics began work here when the residence was under construction. The Baronial House required acoustic treatment (Sound Absorption) to ensure the modern ambience remained uncompromised. On the original installation water had to be imported for our product due to the high level of peat in the natural spring. Due to the success of the original works, we were re-engaged as part of a refurbishment programme to extend the acoustic engineering to kitchen and bedroom areas.

The Solution

Following success of an acoustical plaster spray installation at the property we were recalled to carry out works to the main kitchen and bedrooms areas. We applied a 32mm Ambient acoustic plaster system to control the noise levels within the spaces to create a unique atmosphere. Once again the private client was delighted with the significant acoustic improvements achieved in the new areas.
