The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics has become involved and appointed to work on Gainsborough house in Sudbury, Suffolk, working with Thomas Sinden principal contractors to provide an acoustic plaster system. The project has certain Heritage funding and the Arts Council of England.

Gainsborough house, with the strapline “Reviving and Artists Birthplace”, is being redeveloped with a new 3 storey structure to attract visitors from all over England, a new gallery showing Gainsboroughs and painters inspired by him over the years. Within most Galleries reverberation control is paramount to ensure unwanted sound and echoic conditions are controlled.

The Challenge

Pacy and Wheatley were appointed and commenced on the project installing Fade acoustic plaster system to sloping ceilings to manage unwanted and reverberation to ensure the Gallery spaces are comfortable to enjoy the atmosphere and art collections available in a controlled manner.

We expect to be on-site for around 5 weeks installing circa 250m2 of acoustic plaster. We look forward to providing a first-class finish for the clients and a great sounding controlled atmosphere.
