Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics, specialists in education acoustic walls & ceiling installation in London, were invited by T Lott contractors, who are working together with Graham Construction, to tender for the installation of a specialist concrete-effect acoustic wall and ceiling solution in the new state-of-the-art education centre at Osney Power Station, central Oxford. This has been supplying power to Oxford since 1892 and is now being regenerated into the Global Leadership Centre, providing development of leadership models through today and the future. This will also have 121 modern bedroom facilities to hold some of the business schools' students.
The Solution
Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics who is Styjl accredited installer in the UK following speaking with T lott and the Architect that 450m2 of Styjl concrete effect “ concrete Old boy was to be installed to high level library and teaching area walls to try to combat the high reverberation that would be created in the space upon completion, The Styjl product is a Swedish product and has relations with the Fellert brand and products concrete old boy consists of a 40mm glass wool absorption board and then acoustical plaster hand crafted into a concrete effect finish. This is a class A absorber to absorb reverberation and control the spaces' white noise and sound, making a better learning and concentration environment.
