The Project
We were commissioned by Caruso St John Architects to provide there client Harry Blain & Graham Southern of Blain Southern with an acoustic solution for there award wining art gallery. This venue was undergoing a large refurbishment at the time by main contractor Knight Harwood who we worked along side to archive the clients exacting requirements. Our aim was to provide Blain Southern with acoustically pleasing and comfortable environment in which they could display there award winning contemporary art work.
The Solution
Caruso St John together with Knight Harwood contacted Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics to discuss the various options in which the clients requirements could be achieved however whilst providing the necessary reverberation control. Pacy & Wheatley offered various options and it was decided to adopt our Ambient basecoat acoustic plaster system. This would provide the desired finish and thickness of material which was crucial to the design. Despite this basecoat system being a more traditional method of application, Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics completed successfully to a very tight schedule imposed onto us by knight harwood which with our can do attitude delivered on time and to budget to which all parties were delighted with the appearance and more importantly the performance.
