Acoustic Ceiling Installation, Westminster London

Project Description

Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics were appointed by Flynn James for the design and installation of a specialist acoustic ceiling at 41 Lothbury. The building, originally constructed between 1923 and 1931 for the London & Westminster Bank, is a Grade II listed property located in the heart of the City of London, adjacent to the Bank of England.

Given the building’s listed status and historic significance, the project's planning phase was exceptionally detailed. Every element of the proposed works required careful consideration and formal approval from heritage consultants to ensure full compliance with listed building regulations. Protecting and preserving the original architectural features was central to the project, and all acoustic solutions were developed with this goal in mind. Particular care was taken to integrate the system discreetly within the existing structure, avoiding any adverse impact on original detailing.

The wider renovation of 41 Lothbury was extensive, transforming the historic former banking headquarters into high-quality, contemporary office space. Upon completion, the building offered premium workspace in one of London’s most prestigious financial locations.
