- Sector: Health Sector
- Type: Acoustic Plaster Ceiling
- Procurement Method: Tender

Tilbury Douglas asked Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics to tender for the installation of a specialist acoustic plaster ceiling at Kirklees Dementia Centre near Huddersfield. For the past few years Kirklees Council have been working alongside social care and health professionals to design a new and improved dementia centre in North Kirklees. The newly developed site, for which Frank Shaw Associates Limited completed the architectural works, will include state-of-the-art facilities for those suffering from dementia, with the new centre set to include an activity zone, a wellbeing zone, and a sensory garden. The site will also include the Kirklees Living Well Centre, which will give support and offer advice to families to enable people with dementia to live in their own homes for longer.
The Solution
After numerous discussions between Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics and Tilbury Douglas, it was decided that Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics would install 531m2 of Rockfon Mono Acoustic to multiple areas of Kirklees Dementia Centre. Rockfon Mono Acoustic provides a high level of acoustic control, and it is excellent for absorbing unwanted white noise and controlling reverberation, making it perfect for separate working and relaxation areas.
The Pacy & Wheatley acoustics team looks forward to working alongside Tilbury Douglas and getting hands-on with the project.
