The Project
Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics installed a Specialist Acoustic Plaster System at a leisure centre in Chelmsford.
Chelmsford city council worked with Kier to provide a new facility within the city named Riverside Ice & Leisure Centre. The centre, which can be found along Victoria Road in the heart of Chelmsford and was opened in 2019 by The Duke of Kent.
The centre has two swimming pools, a sport and fitness centre, a café, a reception area and an ice rink. A need was a certainty for acoustic and reverberation control within the new bright main entrance to ensure comfort whilst within the facility and to create a welcoming and comfortable feeling from the outset.
The Solution
Working With Central Essex Interiors and Kier the Pacy and Wheatley acoustic team installed our Rockfon Mono acoustic product offering a Class A absorption to the foyer area working with a curved feature ceiling and large 600 diameter feature lighting certainly brightened up the area with the light reflection on the mono product being so high as 87%
The product has ensured a great deal of absorption has been placed to ensure any unwanted ambient noise and reverberation has minimised to control sound levels in the space.
