Acoustic Plaster System Suffolk
The Project
Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed the installation of an acoustic plaster system at Gainsborough House in Sudbury, Suffolk. Gainsborough’s House is a museum in Sudbury and is the childhood home of Thomas Gainsborough. The museum has been open since 1961 and is owned by trustees whose aim is to promote the wider knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of the art of Thomas Gainsborough. The historical building underwent exciting renovations, which included installing the Fade Acoustic Plaster system to the walls and ceilings in the Exhibition Gallery and the Landscape Studio.
The Solution
Pacy & Wheatley were invited to tender to install 313m2 to walls and ceilings within the building. We were successful and were instructed by Thomas Sinden to carry out the work. The project had difficulties with the high ceilings, but our installers worked closely with Thomas Sinden to make the installation as efficient and productive as possible. The Fade system that was chosen was a 25mm with 2-3mm render, which provides a class B acoustic solution. It controls reverberations within the space to create a peaceful environment which is required in a museum. We enjoyed working with Thomas Sinden and look forward to working with them in the future.
