Acoustic Ceiling Installation, Mayfair
Posted on 30 September 2023
Outside of the construction and renovation industry, it's often not known how important acoustics are to the success of a project. But study after study has shown that the acoustics in a building can contribute to the health of the people working there and the commercial success of the project. A recent installation in Mayfair shows how Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics helped to provide an improvement that will have lasting benefits.
The project took place at 35 Dover Street in Central London, a historic building which has stood in place since 1887. Main contractors Collins Construction were tasked with bringing the location into the modern age while preserving its Victorian elegance. This involved a fitout across the second to seventh floors, and due to the large spaces and high ceilings, it was felt that acoustic control would be necessary. This is where Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics came in, bringing our expertise in the area of acoustic improvements.
To ensure the satisfactory completion of the project, Pacy & Wheatley selected Rockfon Mono, a class A sound absorber, across two floors of the building. In all, 367 m2 of sound absorber was installed, mastering the challenging task of bringing this office and retail space up to date without harming its character. The job was completed within the scheduled period, ensuring a successful renovation for Collins.
If you have a renovation or construction project that needs the touch of expert acousticians, please don't hesitate to contact Pacy & Wheatley for an extensive consultation.
