Acoustic Installation at One Blackfriars

Described as a beacon of architectural brilliance, One Blackfriars – known as The Vase – is a beautiful addition to the London skyline, unmissable as it looks down on the River Thames. The 170m tall, 52-storey skyscraper houses 274 apartments, as well as a boutique hotel and landscaped piazza, encompassing 161 bedrooms and seven suites. Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics were proud to have been awarded the project to create a Class A acoustic solution, with the complex integration of linear lights and large pendant lighting.

The design created by the architects on the project included several specific rafts in the ceilings. These were formed using Rockfon Mono Acoustic TE – a fantastic, revolutionary product which allows acoustic installations on materials such as metal, glass, stone and concrete.

The luxury, 5-Star hotel holds conference and meeting facilities, where the acoustic solutions were required. The elegant render system we installed provides a Class A absorption solution, able to control echoes and reverberations in the meeting spaces and create the required ambience in the rooms – whether used for meetings or break out areas.

The hotel was a fantastic project to be involved in, and the client, Zenith Ltd, were delighted with our work. We received a short, simple testimonial from Tim Cain of Zenith, which says it all – "VERY NICE!"
