Prestigious Development at the New DNRC

The Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics team were absolutely delighted to be involved in the development of the new Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC) in Loughborough, East Midlands.
The development was an initiative of the 6th Duke of Westminster, who served in the Reserve Army for 40 years. He wanted to ensure the seriously injured soldiers, sailors and airmen who risk everything serving our nation get the best possible care. Unfortunately, the Duke passed way in 2016.
Even though he will not be there to see the centre open, his family continue to support the initiative. The late Duke's idea and contributions live on in the work that will take place at the new DNRC, and through the improved lives of the people who will benefit from the centre – the people who risked everything to serve our country.
The rehabilitation centre is set around the Grade II listed 18th Century country house, Stanford Hall, with nearly 360 acres of land. People recovering in the centre are free to walk around the tranquil parkland, helping them relax and assisting in their rehabilitation.
Expert Acoustic Solutions
An acoustic solution was required within the buildings, and the communal dining and bar areas, to aid in creating a relaxing environment in the rehabilitation centre. The acoustic solutions were designed to create clean sound tones producing a quieter environment, effectively minimising any unwanted sound and reverberation.
Alongside Interserve, our team were proud to install over 500m2 of Class A Rockfon Mono absorption systems to the ceiling, delivering a truly superior acoustic solution to the DNRC. We integrated all specialist lighting, AV systems and ornate cornices to the new ceiling, creating the incredibly high class finish the project deserves.
It was an honour to be involved in the development of the prestigious new Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre. We were incredibly proud to have contributed to the DNRC, helping the people who have risked everything to serve our country.
