Rockfon Mono Acoustic Plaster Riverside Leisure Centre

Pacy & Wheatley are delighted to present our recent acoustic installation work at Riverside Leisure Centre in the heart of Chelmsford. We were approached by Kier, the construction and infrastructure company working on the state-of-the-art £40m facility, to provide and install an acoustic plaster solution to reduce reverberation and absorb excess noise in the foyer area.
The Chelmsford Riverside Leisure Centre, after 20 months of construction, is now open for the public to enjoy its brand-new facilities. The centre boasts an ice rink, 130-station gym, two exercise studios, a spin studio, wet and dry changing facilities, sports hall, 25m 10 lane pool with changeable depth and even an OFSTED registered creche!
With such an expanse of activities on offer, the Riverside Leisure centre is sure to be a hub of activity - so it's imperative that the foyer's acoustics are the best they can be! We were asked to install Rockfon Mono Acoustic Plaster to provide a Class A acoustic solution to the reception area.
Our team of acoustic plaster specialists had to work around a curved ceiling feature and large 600mm diameter lighting installations to cover the entire area. The lighting features really brightened up the area, especially as the Rockfon Mono plaster has a high light reflection percentage: up to 87%.
We're delighted to have provided an acoustically healthy environment to this amazing new addition to Chelmsford, and we're very happy that a great deal of reverberation has been minimised in the foyer.
