Project Description
Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics were invited by Integra to tender for the installation of a specialist acoustic ceiling at Hogan Lovell on Holborn Viaduct, Central London. The project involves the demolition of the existing office buildings and the construction of a new state-of-the-art Grade A commercial office development. Located adjacent to the Grade II-listed Holborn Viaduct, the scheme requires careful planning, meticulous coordination and sensitive construction practices throughout every stage of delivery.
Once complete, the development will provide approximately 36,000m² of high-quality office accommodation across 14 levels, together with premium ground floor retail space. The scheme also includes a range of updates that the public can enjoy, including landscaped gardens, secure cycle facilities and a fully accessible lift connecting Holborn Viaduct with Farringdon Street. Designed with sustainability at its core, the development is targeting BREEAM Outstanding, reflecting its commitment to environmental performance and the creation of a modern workplace.
The Solution
Following detailed planning meetings and close collaboration with Integra, a total of 1,350m² of 25mm, on levels 00, 01 and 02, of Bowiq Bo-Spray was specified in bespoke RAL colours to complement the project's architectural vision. The installation comprises 929m² in Bronze (RAL 8014) and 431m² in Green (RAL 1603010), creating a striking, contemporary finish while delivering the required acoustic performance.
Bowiq Bo-Spray was chosen for its outstanding acoustic properties, seamless aesthetic, and exceptional sustainability credentials. Manufactured from recycled cellulose, this water-based acoustic finish has a negative carbon footprint and is produced using recycled paper, helping to divert waste from incineration while reducing overall CO₂ emissions. Designed to minimise echo and control background noise, it provides an effective acoustic solution for offices and other spaces where occupant comfort and speech clarity are essential.
Alongside its environmental benefits, Bowiq Bo-Spray supports leading sustainable building standards, contributing towards LEED v4, BREEAM, and WELL certification requirements.
