Project Description
Pacy and Wheatley were invited by Kipling Contracts UK Ltd to tender for the installation of a specialist acoustic ceiling at Siemens Mobility's £100 million state-of-the-art factory in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
Siemens has been based in Chippenham for over 125 years, and this new facility represents a significant investment in the town's long-standing rail engineering heritage. The development will be constructed at SouthPoint Business Park and is designed to serve as a centre of excellence for next-generation conventional and digital rail signalling and control technologies.
The integrated campus will bring together manufacturing and engineering, reinforcing Siemens' commitment to innovation and sustainability. It also represents a significant investment in the growth of the UK rail industry.
The Solution
Following detailed discussions and design meetings, it has been agreed that Pacy and Wheatley Acoustics will install over 1,200 m² of Rockfon Mono Acoustic in the corridors and communal areas of the project.
Rockfon Mono Acoustic is a Class A sound absorber that effectively controls reverberation and reduces white noise, creating a calm, echo-free environment for everyone using the space. Beyond its acoustic performance, the product was also chosen for its modern, elegant appearance, ensuring that the aesthetic of the building remains uncompromised. In addition, Rockfon Mono Acoustic is manufactured with sustainability in mind, made from recycled materials and designed for long-lasting performance, supporting a more environmentally responsible building.
Work is now well underway on site and progressing smoothly, thanks to the excellent collaboration between our team and the Kipling Contracts Ltd site team. We're excited to see the finished result!
