Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics were invited by Barnes Construction to submit a tender for a leisure acoustic ceiling installation in Cambridge at Scotsdale Garden Centre. Scotsdale is a family-owned business with more than 50 years of operation and with locations in Great Shelford, Fordham, and Horningsea. The newly built, state-of-the-art restaurant and dining area offers a huge 340 covers, making it one of the biggest facilities of its kind in the area. The garden centre is a hub for the local community, with craft workshops being run all year round. It truly was an exciting project to be involved in.
The Solution
From the moment we were appointed, we collaborated closely with Barnes Construction on the design aspects through a series of workshops, focusing on finding the best solutions for the project. This approach ensured a smooth installation process. While there were challenges along the way, the strong relationships and open communication with the entire team and other contractors allowed us to resolve any issues promptly.
Work We Did
We were instructed to install 950m2 of Rockfon Mono Acoustic throughout the newly built, state-of-the-art restaurant and dining area. The product was the ideal choice, offering class A sound absorption that excels at controlling reverberation and background noise. This ensures a more enjoyable dining experience for all guests. Additionally, the product’s sleek and high-reflectance finish complements the modern design of the building.
The result was a high-quality outcome that both the client and all involved parties can be proud of. We wish the centre and all its visitors all the best in their new facility.
