Rockliffe Hall is a prestigious Grade II listed hotel that is currently undergoing a multi-million-pound transformation, with works having commenced in 2025 and scheduled for completion in the coming months. The redevelopment includes refurbishing luxury bedrooms and suites, redesigning the bar and terrace areas, and constructing a striking new pavilion that will house an exclusive 36-cover fine dining restaurant.
The site is also home to a championship golf course and is set within stunning surroundings, making Rockliffe Hall one of the UK's premier luxury destinations. This significant investment will further enhance the hotel's exceptional facilities and reinforce its reputation as a leading hospitality venue.

The Solution
Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics was appointed to supply and install 228m² of the Styjl Straight Up acoustic ceiling system as part of the refurbishment of one of the UK's most prestigious luxury hotels. The installation comprised 120m² in the hotel restaurant and a further 108m² in the orangery. To complement the carefully considered interior design, the system was finished in bespoke colours: RAL 9002 and 10YY 30/106.
The completed installation provides effective sound control in both spaces, helping to create a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests while integrating seamlessly into the hotel's modernisation and refurbishment.
Working within a Grade II listed building presented a number of unique challenges that required detailed planning, careful coordination and meticulous installation. Our team worked closely with Brims Construction throughout the project to ensure the acoustic ceiling system was delivered to the required standard and complemented the wider refurbishment.
We are delighted with the finished acoustic ceilings. They successfully combine modern acoustic technology with sympathetic design, striking a balance between contemporary interiors and the architectural heritage of the building.
