Rockfon Acoustic Plaster Brighton
The Project
Pacy and Wheatley were asked to provide a Tender for the refurbishment of the prestigious Brighton Dome Corn exchange, one of 3 arts venues in the Domes offering.
The venue has hosted greats like David Bowie and many more top artists, and the refurbishment is a significant project within Brighton and commenced in 2017 to excel in the dome's reputation as a nationally treasured building.
The grade 1 listed building was built by prince regent some 200 years ago and will look fantastic following the new refurbishment. Many areas require acoustic control, and the thought that some reverberation control would be required in spaces around the building. The program is phased and will be a project lasting some time.
The Solution
The Pacy & Wheatley acoustic team finished installing 300m2 of Rockfon Mono Acoustic to numerous areas of Brighton Dome Corn Exchange in June 2023. Rockfon Mono Acoustic was chosen for the venue due to its class-A sound absorption; it is excellent for controlling noise levels, aesthetically pleasing, and looks great.
With a dedicated Pacy & Wheatley team returning to the site each time, we completed the project over numerous phases. The team understood our client's needs and worked hard to ensure the client's needs were met at each stage of the project and that the works were completed in the timescales provided.
Our specialist acoustic installers enjoyed working alongside Westridge Construction and formed a great working relationship. We look forward to working with them again on future projects.
