The Project

Acoustic Plaster Specialist Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics are delighted to have completed this project in Loughborough. The new Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC) is a development that was a brainchild of the late 6th Duke of Westminster. The initiative for creating a state of the art care and rehabilitation centre for members of the armed forces who risk everything and have paid prices is a fantastic one. The Logo for this facility has the strap line “Repairing our seriously wounded” and Pacy and Wheatley have taken enormous pleasure in being involved with the project. The facility over 145 hectares (nearly 360 acres) provides freedom to walk in the tranquil parkland setting to assist in rehabilitation and set around The Stanford hall which is a grade II* listed 18th century country house and sits at the centre of the development.

Within the buildings and communal dining and recreational bar areas, an acoustic solution was required to assist creating the environment for clean sound tones and quiet from unwanted sound and reverberation.

The Solution

Pacy and Wheatley proud to work alongside Interserve to deliver the project to 2 buildings upon the sites with the recreation and communal dining and bar areas, installing over 500m2 of class A absorption system Rockfon Mono to the ceiling with all integration of specialist lighting, AV systems and ornate cornices to the high class as the project deserves.
